ASIS UK had the privilege of attending a special event at the House of Lords, hosted by PTSD Resolution, our official charity partner. Represented by board members Darren Carter and Farah Benis, the event brought together supporters, partners, and advocates committed to tackling the mental health crisis facing veterans and those working in high-pressure sectors like security.
This week, our ASIS UK Women in Security community came together for an informal get-together at The Nest in Bishopsgate.
While the timing wasn’t intentional, the evening happened to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme - community - couldn’t have felt more fitting.
This week saw another fantastic edition of The Security Event in Birmingham, and ASIS UK was out in full force! Board members Darren Carter, Tim Molden, Farah Benis, Angel Vankov, Shakirra Patel, and Mike Gaut represented the chapter across a packed and productive few days of insight, connection, and innovation.
What a great afternoon at The Orchard Members Club in Marble Arch for the ASIS UK Spring Seminar 2025! Attendees were treated to an afternoon of expert insights, thought-provoking discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.
I have worked with the ASIS UK Chapter for the past 6 years and this year I had the opportunity to attend ASIS Europe in the beautiful and vibrant city of Dublin. This was my first opportunity to experience direct contact with ASIS International and members of our global community.
ASIS International is proud to stand alongside leading security industry associations and professionals in calling for the urgent implementation of mandatory business licensing within the private security sector. In a collective letter addressed to the UK Home Secretary and the Minister for Security, industry leaders, including ASIS UK, have reinforced the need for higher standards, greater accountability, and enhanced oversight to ensure the security sector meets the challenges of today’s evolving threat landscape
This International Women’s Day, we want to highlight the women who make the security industry what it is - resilient, forward-thinking, and essential.
What an incredible few days at ASIS Europe 2025!
The UK Chapter Board was fully immersed in industry-leading discussions, community sessions, and global networking opportunities.
It was great to catch up in Dublin and host so many of our ASIS friends at our UK Chapter networking event at Lemon & Duke, generously sponsored by Convergint. The event was also attended by our valued sponsors Axis, Alert Media, Gentec, NORTH, and QCC, whose support helps strengthen our community and industry connections.
ASIS is proud to honour Mike Hurst and Graham Bassett with Lifetime Membership, recognising their decades of commitment, leadership, and service to the organisation. Their contributions have been instrumental in shaping ASIS UK, strengthening its presence in Europe, and the wider ASIS community fostering a more inclusive, engaged, and professional security community.
