education

Being certified allows individuals to demonstrate knowledge and skills, gain instant professional credibility and certification and differentiate themselves from others while enhancing personal and professional development.

There are four internationally accredited certification programmes:

  • Associate Protection Professional (APP)

The APP designation is the first step on the security management career ladder. Designed for professionals with 1-4 years of experience, it validates knowledge in security management fundamentals, business operations, risk management, and response management.

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP®)

Recognised as the gold standard in security management, the CPP certification validates expertise across all areas of security management. Candidates must have 7-9 years of security experience, including at least 3 years in a responsible security management role.

  • Physical Security Professional (PSP®)

The PSP certification validates expertise in physical security assessments, system design, security system integration, and security measures application. Candidates need six years of experience, a high school diploma or four years with a bachelor’s degree.

  • Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®)

The PCI certification verifies specialised expertise in case management, evidence collection, and investigative reporting. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of investigative experience, with at least 2 years in case management.
