A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ASIS UK CHAPTER
Shaping Security Leadership in the UK Since 1993
Our History & Growth
Before 1993, ASIS members in the UK were part of Chapter 44 – the European Chapter, headquartered in Brussels. The British members initially met at the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square, with embassy staff helping to establish a presence in the UK.
With a push from Peter Graysmark, ASIS HQ added the word "International" to the organisation’s name, paving the way for the creation of individual national chapters. This led to the formation of Chapter 208 – ASIS UK.
