Angel Vankov

Join us in giving a warm welcome to Angel Stefanov Vankov PSP SRMC as our new Education, Development & Training Director for 2025.

With over 15 years of experience in the security industry, Angel serves as the Security Assurance and Sustainability Manager at Mitie Security, acting as the physical security advisor to both the client and the Account Director while overseeing compliance and operational risk assurance across the NHS portfolio of sites.

His background spans both government and private sectors, including work across science-led government infrastructure and pharmaceutical sites throughout Europe. By applying resilience frameworks based on established governance practices, Angel works to ensure that critical environments remain secure and robust.

A board-certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) and active ASIS member, he is committed to advancing professional development and enhancing security standards across the industry.

Outside his professional role, Angel is a father of two and enjoys podcasts and audiobooks, balancing his dedication to family with a passion for continuous learning.

ANUSKA GOPEECHUND

Welcome to Anushka Gopeechund as our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Director for 2025.

Anushka is an accomplished security advisor with over 12 years of experience in the field. Holding a B.Eng. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and an MBA, she excels in strategic security management, leading high-profile projects like the Houses of Parliament Restoration.

Anushka is known for her expertise in physical and technical security, stakeholder engagement, and holistic security design, combining ethical decision-making with practical solutions.

Awarded the “Women Super Achiever Award,” she is committed to team empowerment, continuous learning, and innovation in security. Anushka’s dedication extends to community service, volunteering with the NHS to support vulnerable individuals.

Mike Gaut

Welcome to Mike Gaut MSyl, CSMP® as our new Membership & Awards Director for 2025.

With 20 years of experience in the physical security industry and predominantly with integrators, he has honed my expertise across various roles and disciplines. His career has encompassed a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from security assessments and system designs to project management, implementation, consulting and most recently sales.

He has consistently demonstrated a commitment to safeguarding assets, personnel, and information through innovative and effective security solutions. His deep understanding of the industry’s evolving landscape, coupled with a proactive approach to emerging threats, positions him as a reliable and knowledgeable professional dedicated to enhancing security measures and ensuring operational continuity.

Outside of his professional life, he is a family man, happily married and the proud father of a lively two-year-old son. His passion for sports, mostly football remains strong. He however, does support Fulham FC and that alone, comes with its challenges.
