GSX 2026
by Robert Wilson, Treasurer
Last week, I had the privilege of attending GSX in Atlanta, representing the ASIS UK Chapter Board. For several years I have considered making the trip out to North America for this event and was extremely pleased to finally make it this year for the first time.
I was not entirely sure how this was going to play out, although have to say it was an extremely busy week, and I was blown away by the number of educational sessions and networking events, providing the opportunity to meet industry peers from all over the world. There was so much to see on the exhibition floor and an endless list of educational sessions making it difficult to achieve everything that was of interest. I was also surprised to see so many colleagues from the industry that I never expected to be there.
The ASIS community was extremely welcoming and made the week all the more interesting. We started with the Volunteer Day on Sunday, hosted by ASIS International, where we shared experiences and opportunities for enhancing value for our members. On Monday afternoon we had an ASIS Europe meet-up where we got to know the broader European members and some of the ASIS International Board and also discussed the ASIS Europe event coming up in Liverpool from the 3rd to 5th March 2027. On Tuesday we attended the Atlanta Aquarium in the evening for the ASIS Celebrates event, although it wasn't easy finding all the UK attendees due to the vast number of people attending.
Thanks to all the great people that I spent time with during the week, and to those that travelled to Atlanta from the UK, making it an extra special experience. I would recommend this as a priority event to attend next year in Orlando.
