The Security Event 2024

Here’s a brief look at the valuable sessions we had:

Day 1 Highlights (Tuesday, 30th April):
- HAMAD ALMELAIHI, PMP, PSP from aramco kicked off with an engaging talk on the Benefits of ASIS and Global Networking. It was an eye-opening session on how ASIS membership enhances professional connections and opens global opportunities.

Then Nazir Afzal OBE ambassador for ASIS UK provided an intriguing insight into his impressive career with an Interactive Q&A Session. His experiences at the intersection of law and security were incredibly valuable for all attendees.

Our board member Farah B presented her paper on sexual harassment on the UK security industry, giving numerous takeaways and tangible actions towards supporting our frontline.

And a special shout out to Angel Vankov PSP SRMC MSyI volunteering in the ASIS lounge and gaining valuable CPD points with humour and a smile!

Day 2 Highlights at The Security Event (TSE)

What an incredible second day we’ve had in the ASIS lounge. Each session brought unique insights and further deepened our understanding of the security industry's dynamic landscape.

We kicked off with Lee Brandon, CPP from IP Forensics Ltd & Chapter Chair of ASIS International Ireland Chapter delivered an outstanding presentation highlighting the essential need for changing the narrative on information sharing within the security industry to achieve collective success.

The day continued with a riveting panel moderated by Kieran Byrne from Axis Communications. Industry experts Gordon Swallow from Gallagher Security, Peter Greener from Irisity and Dan Meyrick from Genetec discussed the true value of a security system, providing deep dives into technology and collaboration.

We were lucky enough to receive a visit from the ASIS International Denmark board of directors, whose insights and presence added great value to our discussions.

Day 3 Wrap Up

The curtains have closed on The Security Event (TSE) and what a phenomenal three days it has been! From enlightening panels to robust learning sessions and dynamic networking opportunities, each moment was packed with value.
